Currently putting together a itx gaming rig, based around i7 4790k & gtx980 ti housed in a Phanteks enthoo evolv itx. It will be in the corner of living room so needs to be as quite as possible while she watches her crap lol but I will be overclocking it (not too extreme though) I'm torn between the be quiet dark rock pro 3 or a h100i gtx

Don't think it will fit mate or I would have done, I'm pretty sure it covers the pcie slot

Definatly stick to air,AIO are not what they are cracked upto be.

If your lookin for low noise with the ability for a little OCing, find the biggest heatsink you can comfortably fit in the case and strap a Noctua F12 to it :D

For the NHD15 check on the Noctua site, it has a compatibility list telling you if it will block the first PCI slot on your board. I did this when choosing my x99 board to make sure i had no issues, helps to save the hassle than if you already bought the board first.

AIO looks smarter and makes your board more visible.

I had an air cooler and replaced it with a H60 and the noise is less. The temps are cooler but that's probably because I was scared to touched the air cooler when cleaning (complete noob inside a computer lol).

How will you reduce the pump noise?

If your not bothered about the noise, you can go AIO since it isn't actually that noisy. If you are really anti-noise, then go for the Noctua. I don't see much of an advantage going AIO for you, since you have the space for a chunky air cooler.

If you want top performance with minimal noise and you are willing to invest time and money, go custom. I would only recommend that route if you are interested in playing with water. Minimum spend for a decent set up is about £175-£200

What was the air cooler you replaced?

There are plenty of noisy air coolers ones out there but i have yet to see an AIO quieter than the high end air coolers available.

It was a small upgrade from the stock cooler. What it said when I bought - triple copper heat pipe cooler.

I did say I never really cleaned it though. And it was pretty clogged up when I took it off for the H60
