Hi - I want to lose a few kgs and have swapped out bags of crisps for air-popped popcorn. I don't have *much* of a sweet tooth (although I did consume quite a lot of sweet stuff over Xmas, hence wanting to shed a few lbs) and much prefer salty popcorn as a snack.

Any ideas on how to get the salt to stick to the popped corn? I use table salt but that just falls off and clumps in the bottom. Would making a brine, then lightly misting the popcorn work? Or mist with water then dust with salt? Any ideas for other flavours and also how to get those to stick as well?

I want to avoid using oil if I can, if I use oil then that's adding calories and I may as well munch on a bag of crisps instead!

You could spray with those oil spray which is like 1cal a spray.

Would 1 calorie or even 10 spray really matter that much?

Was going to answer adding melted butter with either paprika or aromat then read the post properly. You can use a squirt of low cal cooking spray then add seasoning. It is still oil, but in very small amounts.

I hadn't even thought about the 1 cal spray stuff - good shout. I'll also try grinding the salt really finely as well! Cheers :)

get some of the salt without anti-caking agents, most salt has, I bought it for making saline solution for water filter refresh,
but it has fine grains and clingy - I had some from 'real foods' online.
