I wonder if any folks on here have experience purchasing the above.

Specifically Air Purifiers?

Household/Room type Purifiers.

Why I'm asking is there seems to be countless 'makes' with varying price tags, which to be honest don't make sense to me.

I'm a clean freak, so this is for my room. I have an effort I bought some time ago from Aldi. Done the job but is dying a nasty death.

Relatively small/compact with fan speeds etc, and HEPA with a filter? Does any of that make sense to you? Know what makes I should be looking at?

Cheers.

Hi yes I know what your own about :)

I got one for my room and its helped a lot with breathing, etc I normally get seasonal asthma due to the pollen around this year so thought I give an air purifier a go!!!

I got this one from this site..

http://www.healthy-house.co.uk/products/HM688S_air_purifier.php

The filter needs to be replaced once a year (£15.99)

there was a more expensive version around £150 which you can wash the filter (no need to get any consumables) but im happy with my purchase..

Could you not just open a window and let some fresh air in instead of having a machine recycle your air?
the idea just seems un natural to me.

Cheers matey, I've seen that before because it looks similar in size to my current one.

Have you heard of Bionaire?

I have seen this:

Bionaire BAP1550 Air Purifier

Looks nice, and stands tall which would probably be better? Although yours doesn't look too wide.

Yup thats the one I would have got :D

Washable filters are win win if its gonna get a lot of use..reason went for the cheaper option was I didnt know if it would work properly or not...well it did so in future I would probably make the investment :)

One I have sits on the floor in my room (its chubby small), I put it on a timer on days where its bad I just put it on timer and leave it. Pity timer only goes up to 8hours..could be longer..it also comes with an air fresher too (havnt used it yet)

Depends on what you want to be honest..

Hey Guys

Forgot to mention I got that Bionaire!

What a cool piece of kit, certainly a lot better than my first!

Ashamed to say it already picking up dust etc, if I go out and leave it on with doors shut even on the lower setting when I come back in it feels so fresh inside my room!

Actually even cools the air, chilly infact if I forget to turn it off!

This is probably overkill for my room size but I'm glad I bought it!
