Evening all, just got back from The Royal International Air Tattoo held at RAF Fairford.
The weather was quite hot at times, I got a nice tan and had a fabulous time.

Shame they were taking off the wrong way! Normally they take off on runway 27, but today was 09 :/

Here are selection of photos from today, still suffering from noise problems due to heat haze like Wednesday.

I was shooting in A/S/M, with M being the mode of choice. For the fast shots I used 1/1000th and from F5 to F8. I have to say the F18F shot below was probably my best of the lot, it just all clicked together.

Some CRACKING shots.

I do love a bit of military air power :)

:Edit: Infact that F18 shot melts me :o

:Edit2: and the Fulcrum :o

A few years back the lancer did a fly past touching the speed of sound....got a sharpish telling off from ATC :D

Same with a Tomcat at Mildenhall a few years ago - low level flypast at very close to Mach1

Cue all the car alarms going off. :D

Nice photos the pair of you, god knows how you got that effect  I struggled to get anything in focus or not silouheted(sp?). Only just bought a half decent camera so a complete noob, need to find some tutorials and wade through this forum really! :)

edit:

Couple of pics where you can actually make out the aircraft...:

Osprey again because it is pretty funky.

The poor old Hurricane was there, I just somehow managed to cut it out...

A lot of my pics have been nobbled by a "heat haze" sort of effect (like below) How do I sort that out in the future?
