Airborne demo 23rd august

MOH has been going down the pan the last few years and this one looks poor and just another mundane release from EA to cash in whilst they can, COD 4 will put this to shame.

What videos have you been watching? The whole airdop into the maps creates a pretty new gameplay experience where you're not on rails like most other shooters. As for cod 4, it still looks very linear, that one vid where you drop in with the blackhawks and one guy pulls barbed wire across the roadway basically penning you into the one path...yet again.

Cool, glad we're getting a demo to try. What with this and a bioshock demo out this month, all we need is a cod4 demo and we'll be sorted. :D

Get ready to get airborne! On August 23, parachute into combat with EA’s demo release of Medal of Honor Airborne™ for the PC and Xbox 360™ videogame and entertainment system. The Xbox 360 demo will be available on Xbox LIVE™* Marketplace and the PC version will be available on the official Medal of Honor™ website.

Demo Mission: Operation Husky
A joint allied operation into the island of Sicily, Operation Husky follows Boyd Travers and the 82nd Airborne on their first combat jump on July 11, 1943. After securing and sabotaging four anti-aircraft guns, Boyd is sent to rendezvous with a group of Airborne paratroopers at the edge of the village. Here, they run into the German Heer army, who is attempting to recapture the village from the Airborne. Boyd must push to the end of this small hamlet, eliminating Germans along the way, then find a sniper rifle and eliminate the German commander. He’s successful, but not before the commander has successfully called in reinforcements.

I just hope its not another pacific assault type of moh. The best ever ww2 game imo was mohaa with spearhead since i play that daily online. I hope we get more of the same this time, and i think i heard there trying to do it more like mohaa this time rather than pa. Tho i really dont like the new compass and the icons for weapon choosing as there massive when theres no need when the weapon select bit comes up in bottom right corner.

Heres a mp vid, tho i think its the console version but there shoudlnt be that much of a diff to the pc version.

Far as im aware it should do, normally see a lot of pc game screenshots with no anti aliasing applied.

*sigh*

It's most likely a resized picture with loss converting to JPG.
Just like a whole lot of pictures out there.

I could make crysis look really bad.

Watch the HD vids or anything else you want, so far the game has not been shown running with anti aliasing. You apparently dont remember that pacific assault didn't have anti aliasing support when it was released and it was patched in 6 months plus later. Also rainbow 6 vegas (unreal engine 3 like airborne) doesn't support it out of the box either.

i don't have high hopes for this at all.

I didn't at the start but after seeing vids and reading about the features ive warmed up to it more. 9 days till demo time so that should give a good indicator. :)

Nope, initially it was goin to have jeeps in it, they actually had a deal with the JEEP company for it but they reverted to infantry combat only. Only vehicle you will be in most likely is the c47 before your paradrop.

TBH though some games dont really suit vehicles much, quake 4 had them and it felt like a case of "everyone else is doing it, so will we" lot of reviews said the vehicle levels just felt tacked on (hellp crappy handling plane flying segment from pacific assault). I prefer just infantry combat anyway :)

It's definitely got potential. Plus I generally like single player WWII missions so hopefully its at least good for that side of things
