My air con was last regassed almost 3 years ago. 2 years and 9 months to be exact. It no longer feels ice cool to the touch anymore and have noticed it taking a big hit into my MPG. It certainly never makes me TOO cold anymore.

Been thinking about going to Kwik Fit where they say that if your systems temperature doesn't improve by 10% it is free.

Has anyone been to Kwik Fit for a regas or can recommened somewhere else in the North East..

Not sure. Most places say that you should regas every 2-3 years. Even says this in my Ford service book.

When I first got the car the aircon would make me "OMFG too cold turn off" now it's fairly cold but not enough to make me want to turn it off because im shivering :p

Kwik Fit do say if you don't get an improvement of 10% it's free so at least theres going to be a noticeable difference in improvement if I have to pay for it.

Well it's been a coldish day today so this evening I made sure I checked the air con. The air coming out does seem pretty cold if you put your hand right up to the vent but it doesn't seem as effective in cooling my car. I can leave it on and it won't make me so cold that I'll have to turn it off, it just feels slightly cooler than opening my windows.

I'm not sure really I'll get it looked at and see whether the temperature is within acceptable thresholds, it doesn't feel as tight as when I first got the car almost 2 years ago mind.

Well I was armed with only a shirt and jeans in the car and it didn't make me shiver on full like it used to :D

Regas then?

Tom, let me know where you get it done and how much. I'm interested in doing mine aswell. My aircon seems a little warm even tho it's on the coldest setting!

It was last done at Acorn Auto Electrics in Middlesborough back in 2005. It was £50 should be a bit cheaper now I'd think.

I'm ringing about tommorow Peter. I'll let you know how it goes on. Got a few places in Boro lined up to call.
