Hi all,

Running 10.7.3 on both of my machines, and both have this issue.

1) Remove AirDrop from the sidebar.
2) Set their view as column in the window (third button from the left)
3) Close the window
4) Press command-shift-R to bring up AirDrop.

Does AirDrop come up properly, or do you get a weird column view?

Thanks :)

Thanks for the reply. Not worth a reinstall, but a submitted a bug report to Apple just to notify. If I have the AirDrop icon in the sidebar it is fine, so I guess I'll just live with it.

Thanks :)

Wait.....

I get this screen when re-doing it. It does seem to be a bug indeed.

Ahh... I didn't have WiFi on - After turning it on and trying again - I also get that screen.

Thank goodness/oh no! xD

Well, bug reported to Apple, I thought I was going crazy when I uninstalled VirtualBox (and deleted its leftover files, something that I'm comfortable and fine with) and this started happening. I thought I had deleted something I shouldn't have (which wouldn't make sense).

I'm getting the same window, if you resize it you can have some Windows-style crashing fun ;)

The "fix" for now is to leave AirDrop in the sidebar; this will fix the problem for all circumstances, and will keep AirDrop working as normal.

Thanks for the input everyone!

Wait, I did also install Virtual Box. Does it happen if VB is not installed? I may do a fresh install to test to ensure it's not some software breaking Air Drop.

Didn't happen to me before VirtualBox was installed, only when I got rid of it (on both machines) that this started to occur.

Marky, did you have VirtualBox installed?

I definitely didn't delete any system files when I uninstalled VirtualBox, and I used the included uninstall script.

What's really odd is that the only thing that VirtualBox added to the System Library was its Python API, yet the issue affects all user accounts!

I've never heard of VirtualBox to be honest, the only sort of virtualisation software I use is Wineskin.
