Airdrop problems?

So..... Is Airdrop a load of rubbish for anybody else?

It works maybe 20% of the time, other times people / computers just don't show up

I'm on Yosemite and iOS8

I used to have problems getting Airdrop to 'see' devices as well, but then I realised my problems were my own fault because I was only switching on WiFi when trying to use Airdrop. Ever since I realised I had to switch on both wireless and bluetooth for Airdrop to work, I've had no problems.
