Tha stock cooler i had blew downwards onto the cpu and the air must have flowed through the memory and bridge heatsinks and possibly the power fets and caps ! now i have fitted a liquid cooler could it be a cause of my high idle temps, 34c on Phenom II X4

I dont remember what temps i was getting with stock cooler as i ripped it off soon as i got the board and cpu.

Ok i googled it

'Air should be blown down onto the heat sink this process also cools everything else around it including northbridge ram and the most important the VRMs. Pulling it threw could result in the motherboard overheating. Now maybe the CPU might be better cooled with it pulling up but that fan is not just for the CPU like i said its for the motherboard too. '

Have replaced the stock cooler and refitted the tunnel to the case that feeds air directly to the top of CPU

As if by magic everything is stable again

Overclocker muppet signing off here  going back to muck spreading on the farm.

Back when bulldozer arrives, im talking to my self too much LOL
