I've not long had it (Model: Easy Millenium Matt White), brought it on the 14th last month and it's been fixed twice by the shop already. All the rubber on the upper nose has fallen away pretty much from one side to the other and taken a lot of paint with it. It would seem that it peels after getting wet!!

I'm pretty darn peeved and tomorrow I'm going to go down the shop again, It unreasonable to ask for my money back? If water is causing the problem with the paint, then by november I'll need a new lid

What would you do?

Ask for a full refund, and look at getting a different model/brand or something. It's far from unreasonable to ask for that. It's not like you're just not a fan of it, it's faulty, so fair enough you should be able to get a new one.

Contact Consumer Direct before you go back to the shop you will then be armed with knowledge of your full rights, the relevent legislation and your legal options, so the shop will not be able to fob you off when you take it back.

Thank you PieEater  I'll contact them shortly.

I've been reading up on my rights but it would be nice to have what I have in mind confirmed.

The main issue of contention I suspect will be that 'reasonable time' is not defined by law. I'll drill myself with all the reasons why I want a full refund and not another repair.

If all goes well, I think that I'll go for an Arai Tour X or a Shoei Hornet. They cost a fair bit more but I'd rather borrow a bit of money to end this problem than spent it later on fuel running about to get the lid fixed every few weeks. If they have to experiment on glues, I dare say it could risk the integrity of the helmet and that is a big reason to ask for a refund.

Wish me luck..

Thanks,
Hector.

phooeee.. Why do some shops have to make life so hard. If they'd gave me my money back I'd have spent it there again on an **** (Edit??: A.r.a.i.) or Shoei, they could have returned the old lid to the supplier and that would be that. But nope, they insist of contacting the supplier. Tuesday afternoon is the deadline and if that fails to resolve the issue then I will have to go through other channels.

*sigh*
