Worse sound quality than the sony's and less comfortable is what im hearing?

Even if its 90% of the sony's quality though, it should be great still

Dave2D says they sound better than the Sonys. It will be subjective, of course.

If they fixed a few issues (case and power button) and made a cheaper SE version in plastic these could be a big seller.

For once I'm not even tempted for myself though, despite the surprisingly good reviews, they aren't that much better than my XM3's to warrant the cash

Got my dad a set for Christmas but he much prefers the Sony XM4's to the Airpod Max, both in noise-cancelling and sound so ended up returning them and keeping the Sony's. Happy days for me as it means I get the money back

Yeah never got why people refer to consumer electronics devices as investments, they're consumable items that lose their value over time. Some faster or slower than others, but they all lose value.
