Airport express config? or is something broken?

This weekend my airport express started flashing amber every 30 seconds or so, then back to solid green for 30 seconds etc?

Seems a bit strange though, as it has been working flawlessly for a month (since i purchased it) and I have made no changes to its setup or the setup of my adsl modem router which it is connected to.

My setup is as follows...

Internet -> US Robotics 9105 -> media pc / xbox360 / airport express -> macbook

MY USRobotics is running dhcp. My airport is in bridge mode. As i've made no changes to my setup i figured it might be a hardware fault, plus the macbook reports ethernet unplugged. I changed the cat5 cable for another, and my router is working fine i think (as it is connecting to the internet no problem, and the media centre pc and xbox are working fine on it).

So, I rang Apple and they went through the full hard reset etc with it, and they eventually said it was faulty and that it needed replacing. I got a brand new replacement from the apple store yesterday, plugged it in and its doing exactly the same thing??????

I presuming I'm not extremely unlucky and have got another dud, but i've checked everything i can think of.

Any advice on setup i've done wrong? or why it might have worked for a month without problem and then just started doing this.

Cheers

If the airport express detects an upgrade it can flash amber to alert you.

Are you sure you're running all the latest software / firmware?

Yep off the top of my head its running 7.3.1. Its the latest one anyway.

Also, I didn't mention what symptoms its showing. Whilst using my macbook... when i browse the internet or remote desktop to my media centre the connection hangs/drops every 30 seconds or so.. then reconnects and carry's on. This is in sync with when the light changes from solid green to amber. Also wireless music streaming to the airport express works perfect.

So it seems that the wireless part is fine, and the problem is somewhere between my router and the airport express? Or my network configuration? it is like it is assigned an ip address and then 30 seconds later it loses it and has to re-apply for it.

well i tried setting it to static ip but it didn't help.

i then borrowed a belkin adsl router off someone and set it up in the same way as my USR one, connected the airport and its working fine so far? i'm a bit confused now, as my USR router seemed to be working fine (with the other things that were connected into it) and i've done no setup changes to it myself.

could it be that my isp has changed the way its sending me something and its causing the problem in the old configuration?

I dont particularly want to shell out on a new router to then find the airport stops working with it in a month like it did with this one.
