Airport Express Setup Issues

I've just bought an Airport Express. I've plugged it into the wall socket and downloaded the latest version of Airport Utility

However when i open it and click Rescan it doesnt find anything. The light on the AE flashes a Yellow/Orange colour quite slowly.

What am i missing? I'm using Windows 7 on the laptop and want to try and connect the AE to my existing wireless network through a SKY router.

I take it you're trying to extend the network using the AE?

Without stating the obvious have a thorough read through the manual, I've recently purchased one myself and found it very straight forward with the setup procedure, although I found it very different to a standard router configuration of old.

Yes, that sounds about right. My plan is to have the AE plugged into my hifi so i can use Airplay to play music without the need for an ipod dock.

I bought the AE used and as bizarre as it sounds it looks like i have 3 manuals and none of them English, looks like they're German, French and Italian.

I've followed the online set up walkthrough but i expected the opening screen in the Airport Utility to detect the AE, do i need to use it connected with an ethernet cable for the initial set up?

I'm a moron

Logic made me realise that buying anything which is wireless second hand means the item is likely to be searching for the previous network.

A quick reset and i seem to be sorted
