looking at buying one of these for work
not sure if it will do what I want though
we have no wifi, but I was hoping to make my own private wifi

if I plug my network cable in the office into this will it create a wifi signal?

or could I just use any hub

Yes, you can plug a network cable into the Airport and it will then act as a wireless hub.
