Hey all,

Just received delivery on a AirPort Extreme which I'm currently testing out.

Have to say, it's VERY sleek and the set up is so easy I'd highly recommend one to a someone looking to configure a fast and flexible wireless network.

All my devices are n-compatible (albeit a AirPort Express than is only on when it's used :p) so it's running at a decent rate, and I have to say I'm impressed with the level of configurability!

Currently got a printer, and 500GB hard drive connected to it, and both were added within seconds.. I suppose it's just as easy on other access points but this is the first that has a nice, straightforward way of explaining things.

I almost ticked "share AirPort Disk over WAN" by accident, but otherwise no real problems.. I just wish I had a NAS now, rather than a USB/Firewire Disk :(

I had a LaCIE but I didn't like the interface :(

I'm using this with a top-spec MBP (decided not to sell!)

Definately the best purchase since my AirPort Express!!! :D

I was a bit reluctant to get the Airport Extreme because you need a separate BB modem, so I got the Netgear DG834N instead.

Panzer

I actually had a Netgear DG834N and went to a Speedtouch modem because I used a modified firmware that gave me more net speed (by tweaking the target noise margin) :)

I also can't use an all-in-one router as the master socket is in the bedroom. I actually used a small run of CAT6 cable to connect the devices together, which is great because it allows a full bandwidth gigabit connection and means the AirPort Extreme is now in the living room; so I get 90-100% signal strength le to at all times!

A bit of both..

The bloke was being funny, and I just decided that I'm going to get a new revision in June (skipping the January models) :)

Also, the rumors about the new 3.2GHz, 1600MHz Bus, Mac Pro are tempting me to save!
