Anyone here who has a Core Duo Mac (Mac Mini / MacBook / older MBP I guess) and uses wi-fi (Airport)?

Since applying the recent Airport security patch, I've had the wireless connection vanish on me twice so far (just stops working - no warning or anything). I have to reboot the Mac to get it back. It would run for weeks before the patch.

Anyone else come across this? :(

Note - this security patch does not apply to Core 2 Duo systems.

Quite the opposite actually. My Macbook had the problems you described prior to installation of the patch where the connection would drop for no reason but this was correctable simply by reconnecting, no reboot necessary.

The update appears to have fixed this problem. Sorry if this post is of no help.

That's fine - all experiences count. You using encryption (course you are)? WPA?

I've got a spare 8-port wired switch I can break out if necessary, but that's plan B.

You and quite a few others.

Can't rule that out of course, but I'm fairly sure I read reports of it happening even with Apple's own routers. Can't be everyone having dodgy routers, and mine's somewhat more expensive than you'd find in most homes, so I really hope it isn't that.

My Mac survived it's brush with reverting the appropriate .kext file, so fingers crossed.
