Hi,

I recently purchased an HP Photosmart C310 printer to allow printing from an iPad. After setting it up I realized that it was not being detected by the iPad and I found that the router (D-Link DSL-2740R) was blocking it - I tried changing settings but to no avail. As a result I now have to use a Thomson Speedtouch 585 v7 connected to an access point as the Thomson's wireless is broken.

I plan on buying a new router but obviously don't want to buy one and find it doesn't work with Airprint.

If you use Airprint can you please let me know what router you are using and what you think of it as I plan on buying it tonight. Ideally I would like a ADSL modem/router but if you have a cable router, let me know as well as I might be able to find a ADSL variant or at least use it with an external ADSL modem.

Thanks in advance

I'm finding airprint very unreliable on my HPB210. Sometimes it will print, but the majority of the time it doesn't work. Disappointing, considering I already returned a previous 1 due to problems with the print head.

Decent enough printer, but I think I will be avoiding HP in future.

Slightly offtopic but I find it amazing that more people don't use Google Cloud Print as a real alternative to Airprint - I guess not many people are aware of it's existence.

Saves money having to buy all these new kind of printers with "Airprint Enabled" on them.

By "blocked" I mean that the router blocks the Airprint traffic but disabling the firewall doesn't work. The result is the iPad being unable to find the printer.

As far as Cloud Print goes, it looks good but it's my mum that uses the iPad for web browsing so rarely has her computer on. It's also great having the ability to simple hit the print option in Safari.

I'm looking at this router: http://www.tp-link.com/en/products/details/?model=TD-W8960N as it looks decent at a good price and I can't find anyone having Airprint issues but it would be great to hear from people with what routers they have and if they work with Airprint or not.
