Hi all, might be going to Duxford Airshow tomorrow and this will be the first airshow i've been to so i could do with a couple of questions answered:

1) Are your bags checked when you go in (im planning to take all of my camera kit)?

2) What exposure, appeture ect would you recommend for shots of the planes when flying?

Cheers in advance, David.

I didnt get my bags checked at cottesmore a few weeks ago but that wasnt a public show, I am pretty sure your bag will be searched at the entrace if this is a public event.

As for shutter/apeture, all down to the weather really, I had a terribly day with the weather changing by the second! I would recomment about 1/30-1/20 for prop shots depending on the aircraft, you want prop motion blur which is sometimes hard to achieve on something which is changing its revs often, you want to avoid props that arent moving at all and look wrong, then again you dont want them invisible! Quite a fine balance between the two. Heli's want even slowr usually especially the chinook! :)

Hope its of some help to you, just practice and play with the camera to see what you feel looks best.

1) Not generally. Yet to have it happen for Duxford anyway. With the amount of nerds and geeks there with huge camera bags *some take mini step ladders too..* there should be no problems.

2) Errrrrrr. Yet to take my new cameras to an airshow so my experimentation has yet to take place.
