Airtag alternative?

Hey,

We have a couple of Ipads in the house although one is 6+ years old at this point.

I was going to grab a couple of Airtags but don't think will work as needed as both phones in the house are Anroid, one is a Pixel and one is a Samsung.

I need it for 2 reasons, track luggage and track my dog!

I have Youtubed but the recommended one 'Tile' the comparison I saw seems terrible, plus it would need to be outside of bluetooth range.

Does anyone have any experience of alternatives that you can use from ipad, android or even a Windows PC?
 
I have the Samsung Smart Tag, and use it with my Samsung phone. Works well and the accuracy seems good. I believe the coin battery will last about 12 months before needing to be replaced. Should work fine to track your dog and luggage but you just have to access it from the Samsung phone is all.

Had Tiles, now use AirTags (as an apple user). Tile's had a similar operating framework to AirTags, however I found there's just not enough Tile users such that once your item is out of bluetooth range, you're a lot less likely to find it. Having said that, my Tile sometimes would not be traceable despite being in my house - it just wasn't reliable for my keys.

AirTag is a superior product, with the popularity of other iDevices being I can reliably track when out of the home and away from my devices.
