I recently spent too much money on a new computer case and monitor, as recommended by the fine people here! And after a 5 hour build in which I realised I didn't have enough fan extensions, here is the almost finished product!

WIDESCREEN!!!

I tell you, WoW in widescreen is just something else, I get far more gaming area uncluttered with UI rubbish, and more dragon on the screen at once!

And imo, its just prettier :p

The case is an Akase Eclipse, and it is simply massive! The measurements are [height 4miles, width 7km, depth <infinite>] ;)

Hopefully when I get home tonight the last few bits will have arrived so I can replace the CPU fan with a 92 amber, tidy the cables (the zalman controller in the bottom will go, as the extension will link the fan to the Nexus at the front (I had wanted a 3.5" akasa black, but no stock).

I also had my very first ever shot at stealthing.
It almost killed me.

Took a lot of filing, and the edges need a black marker taken to them, but they work, and thats what counts! The bottom drive needs to move back a little also, so everything is flush.

Once the cables/fans are sorted I will take more pics, I also intend to build new power cables (with my next paycheck...) to make that tidier - its something I've done before and is delightfully simple, if a little time consuming.

Hopefully more pics tonight!

Thank you all so much for the advice and the stealthing guide posted in my other thread, I'm deliriously happy with the result :-)

P.s.... buy a widescreen, best thing Ive bought in ages!

I placed the drives so that the front fan is mostly unobstucted, whilst a little air still blows over them. I didnt think about which holes to use when I did this, I used the ones that were in the right place when I held the drive where I wanted it.

Does it matter in any way?

As for the stealthing, yes it was difficult - but only due to inexperience. If I had more spare covers I would re-do it slightly differently.

You know what? Looking at the picture here I am feeling the urge to turn all the hard drives over, so that the power cables are at the back.

I think that would lend itself to neatness quite well. HDD's ok upside down?
