akasa card reader. help me please quick

i tryed them all. it didnt work.

anyway thanks for replying, iv ordered a different one. one that plugs into a external usb slot instead of a usb on the mobo :)

Ah - if it plugs into the USB port on your motherboard it's possible that the pin out from the connector on the card reader is different to that on your motherboard. If this is the case then Windows won't be able to talk to the device leading to the exclamation mark in Device Manager

I recieved my Akasa card reader this afternoon, plugged it into my mobo and started up my computer but it hung at the start up screen for several minutes then proceeded to boot. The card reader works when in windows. The computer also boots up normally if I leave an SD card in the slot but I don't wana have to do that. Anyone know how I can stop my computer hanging at startup, it's a right pain :( Cheers

I'm using xp64, that could be it or not. I found on old 16mb SD card lying around, I just stick that in for now!

I fitted one of these on my new rig this week and it works fine. It first appeared in XP with the "?" next to it. Then I stuck in the driver disc and loaded them up and now it all works smoothly - certainly no problems with hanging...
