Hi All,

Im looking at getting the Akasa Clear Acrylic ATX Case, I am obsessed by how funky it looks and with some good wire work and tubes added I think this case looks the nuts, just wanna ask is there anything you would say is wrong with this case? Or diffiult to build with?

Its impossible to do any cable tidying with it, and they are hard to make completely silent.

Having not used one for any length of time I can not comment on any issues that could arrise, but I imagine dust on the inside of the case may be a slight problem to the whole look.

dust dust dust dust dust arrrrghhhhhh can't stop it getting in.

Also if u add a hdd you have to unplug eveything, take the rear panel off with the motherboard on to get to the hdd/cd drives.

Also the front usb ports have fallen apart twice now although akasa are nice enough to send replacements everytime.

Not something i'd buy again and will replace it soon.

As said above the remove everything to add a HDD/optical is annoying, the amount of dust/marks/scratchs that appeared on it was unbelievable, I dont want to put you off it but in all honesty I would never use one again.

Someone I know wasted £100 on one of these, the cooling is very loud and so poor his computer was constantly overheating. He has even bought an SI-120 heatsink, not overclocking and it still hits about 60c load...
Plus it looks crap, hard to work in, low build quality etc.

Well I wont be buying one of these then :D

Ill head back to a lanboy, smallish case, nice window to browse through and a general good case :D

Thank you for your help

Also there are the PC-7 varients you could look into, a bit bigger than the Lanboy but it is the next 'step up' from it.

Depends if you are at the time in your PC building when you want to settle down with the cases looks and just buy sheer quality, nothing spent where it is not needed.

Or if you want something that looks wacky!

Lanboy it is then I guess :p
