Ok lads, no sniggering. After years of buying rigs off the shelf and upgrading bit by bit, I'm finally building my own machine. My problem is the front PCI slot on the Eclipse. I want to add some extra USB slots but how the hell do you connect the card to the motherboard?

Use a standard USB bracket, they come with most motherboards (every board I have ever had has had one)
They are a PCI bracket with a cable that plugs directly into the motherboard usually in the bottom front corner of the board, the manual will show your properly)

If you don't get one with your board send me an email as I have a few spare.

My question is, can you get an extension for the leads on the bracket ones?

I've fitted a firewire one that came with my ASUS mobo but the lead is too short to reach the connector on the mobo. :(

I've had the same problem, that's Why I have a cathode switch in the front...
I think you'd have to wire a longer version yourself. Certainly haven't seen extension cables.

Thanks, that's what I thought it might be. I've had a quick look around the web but couldn't see anything that might work. Shame, as I really could do with a firewire at the front and don't fancy bodging one together.
