Hi, I have shortlisted the following two cases for my new build,Akasa Eclipse 62 & Lian-Li PC7, I know the Eclipse probably has the better air flow and friendly users ability, but love the simple well built look of the PC7 for the money, the only thing thats putting me off the Eclipse is the plastic front!! looking for something without a front door as the case will be mounted in an enclosure, also tempted with the Silverstone TJ07, but finding it hard to justify paying more than double for the above two, whats your thoughts?

Mark.

I am in exactly the same position as you. I am going to go for the Akasa TBH.

I'd get the Akasa too, even though I have a PC-7 and love it very much. They're both superb cases.

TBH I think that since they're not really in the same price range the Akasa will always win hands down, if not on value.

yer its abit biased comparing a case to one which almost double the price as that extra money will always go some where into the case

i made this decision about 3-4 months ago, went for the pc-7 in the end because i didnt think the akasa was worth the extra other the pc-7, maybe if the front wasnt made of plastic id have gone the other way but tacky plastic really put me off

The front of the eclipse looks much better in the flesh than it does in the pictures.

I feel totally the same, I want to buy the Eclipse but for nearly £100 for a case with a plastic front is a bit O.T.T, i know the PC7 is made of very thin aluminum, but at least the front looks great, thats where you will almost always be looking at and using all the time, I think I will probably stretch and go for the TJO7 OR TJO9, to me they are both beautiful looking cases and look like they are built like a tank, they also look as if they have great room for cooling and upgrading.

If only the designers at Akaska could have put a better front on the case there would only be one choice!!

Does the mirage have the plastic front? I like the look of the Mirage a lot, I just don't know if I can live with the door on the front.

It is plastic regardless of what Custom PC may say.

PC7+ would get my vote, but it really depends what you are putting in the system to which would be best.

Mention the words 8800GTX and Raptor 150gb RAID and I will just scream back to you "GET THE ECLIPSE!".

i have the lianli pc7 plus with a 8800 GTX and 4 drives, 2 in raid. It all fits and bar an intermittent vibration ive yet to narrow down there is plenty of space physically, the spacing between the HDD cage and 3.5" internal bays allows the card space

Did you have any issues with fitting the 8800 in as I have heard it scrapes on *** drive cage?

Cheers

no it fits very nicely, its like the case was designed with a big graphics card sticking out in mind.

Thanks for that quantumisation means I can order it now knowing it will fit :)

After a lot of thought and homework, I bought the Silverstone TJO9, Just received it today, what a cracker!! a lot more expensive than the Eclipse and the Pc7, but I feel the extra outlay is well worth it, great build quality, the best looking case I have seen, pure class.
