I got this case of these forums about 4 months back, great case, love it to bits.

Though I do wish i could improve air flow abit.

Normally all cores on my Q6600 idle around 40 deg, I'm sat here at the moment with the side of as I've just spaced my hard drives out to improve things a little. QWhilst doing this I've left the side off to compare temps and my cores are...

Seeing this I've started looking to look at the Scythe Karma bays, now I've read in the past that they are not a perfect fit and I don't want a fan on my case that doesn't get filtered for dust (had a Antec 900 thank you).

Is the Karma bay my only choice, has anyone got one with a filter fitted?

Using a kama bay on my eclipse here, fit wise it isnt to bad looking and it certainly helps with airflow. The fan on the bottom front of my case is blocked by 3 hdd's so i needed the kama bay for more air intake, if you do decide to get one make sure you replace the fan that is supplied with it as its pretty useless. I swapped mine out for a sharkoon silent eagle 2000 (dust filter fitted) never have any issues with dust build up, but then i regularly clean the case with compressed air.:)

Thanks, any ideas on before and after temps?

Think I'm going to get the noctua fan.
Cant remember exactly what temps were before, i had the system running at 3.6ghz for a while prime load temps of 68-68-62-62. I wanted to push for 3.8ghz, which involved a combination of lapping my cpu/cooler, replacing all fans for 2000 rpm's and adding a kama bay, for 3.6 i needed 1.4vcore and for 3.8 just over 1.5vcore, incidentally my temps were the same at prime load for 3.8 as they were for 3.6. my first 3.8 attempt lead to temps of 80-80-72-72 prior to the cooling changes, but id hazard a guess and say the kama bay probly helped knock 4-5'c of my temps.:)

Probably the best thing you can do for the eclipse is adding a blowhole to the roof to exhaust any built up heat.

If you don't want to do any modding yourself the replacement side panel with a 120mm side intake should provide your cpu with a stream of cool air and drop your temps a little, I'd venture more than a karma bay would.

You can buy a sidepanel with a fan in (im running one) I am a big fan of ocuk so please dont flame me admins, BUT they dont sell it here. you can buy them on ebay which is where I got mine, they work a treat and are pretty much silent.

Did you find that the side fan made any difference to cpu temps?. I currently have the window panel on mine. with 2 fans drawing air from the front and 1 exhaust in a straight through the case setup, ive been wondering if side fans make much difference to airflow and cooling:)

Yes it did, but more to my GTX 280 than the cpu as it blows right on to it, mine only has a 1 year warranty so I want to look after it....

Im also running a 9600 for physics so my pcie area gets pretty hot and the side fan has made a huge diff to me.... Its also lowered the NB temps...

CPU hasnt had a major impact but was already well ventalated....

A common mod to the Eclipse is to remove the 3.5" bay completely and use one of these to house the drives and point an 80mm fan at the CPU. My set up looks like this:

I'm using a fan side panel as well.

Hey snapshot, nice work with the solar eclipse, very tidy build:) I currently house my main rig (in sig) in an akasa eclipse 62, bought the solar a few weeks ago solely for the mobo tray, then sourced some parts to make it look like an akasa eclipse, just need a top panel and im sorted, i like what youve done with yours:)
