I am puting mu parts together having just arrived in the post.

And i am trying to remove the hard disk caddy I know I need to remove the front panel because I can see a screw holding it down at the front.

Could someone explain how to remove front panel and save me some time ?

And is it possible or advisable to remove the caddy for better air flow.

Previous cases I had were jurt pegged on and you just ripped it out.

You need to remove both side panels, and then you should be able to see three plastic clips on each side. You then lever these outwards carefully, while pulling the front panel away from the case. Start with the two bottom clips, and work your way upwards in pairs, if that makes any sense.

It is possible to remove it from one side only, but I was always worried that the clips would snap.

After that undo the two screws (possibly four - I haven't done this recently), as well as the plastic push-rivet connecting it to the floppy caddy. It should then slide out towards the back of the case.

I don't think it hinders the airflow much if you leave it in though, I never noticed any difference anyway.

there are 4 screws for the hdd cage at the front...then following the above instructions should pop out like a dream...unless you've got a large gfx card such as a 7800gtx...might take a bit of fiddling

I was afraid those clips would break if i pushed too hard but i see how its done now am just about to try it.

Good case but personnely I would rather the hard disks were located above the fans is just my own preferance.

When I installed the hard drives in the 5 1/4 " bays I found the disk temperatures increased by ~10 degrees, due to lack of airflow. They were about the same as the case temp in the original location, not much above ambient.

It is a good case, it has excellent cooling abilities - although it would benefit from some form of noise reduction for the hard drives. I've found that the mounting system in the Antec Sonata to be the quietest I've used so far, but the cooling wasn't as good.

I have the B.F.G. GTX and passive CPU cooler so definatly I need the extra air flow with the hard drive cage dismounted.

I am still thinking about the HD cooling problem would like to mount them in the floppy drive bay but that might be too much willl probably mount them in the upper bay some how.

Can't believe how quite the fans are had to touch them to make sure they were on have them mounted with soft silica kit, very nice.
