I’ve had my fan control for over a year now, everything working fine and what not until recently. I put in a second hard drive a Seagate barracuda, when I first powered it up I heard a click from the control unit and since then the colour lcd won’t keep the same colour backlight on. My system is all 'blue' when I change the lcd to blue power down then up it resets to red which is the first colour in the list, while before it worked perfectly. Anyone had this problem before/solutions?

Cheers

(sorry forgot i was in wrong section to post this in)

These things don't last forever. Having said that, the fact that this coincided with plugging in the seagate could suggest you have a psu problem.

Does it work without the seagate plugged in?

It sounds like the memory in the fan controller has died. Try inspecting it for burnt chips. Shouldn't be too difficult to spot a memory chip on it.

Does it normally remember any other settings, and if so does it still remember them now?

Thanks for reply; well it doesn’t start working if I unplug the Seagate and other devices. as for other settings save everything is pretty much manual readings, except for the temp that are set for alarms but I’ve never changed them, I’ll have a go with that. So looks like it could be the memory, possibly an excuse to buy a different fan controller :p

Thanks for reply
