Akasa Fan controller causing Fans to make a Buzzing noise?

Hi All, ive finished building my computer a couple of days ago and i am having a bit of a problem with either my fan controllers or my fans.

I have a 360 rad which uses 6 sickle flow fans in push pull.

i also have 4 case fans (xigmatec fans)

I use an akasa fc six fan controller and an fc trio fan controller.

I am finding when the sickle flow fans are connected to either fan controller they make a buzzing sound which is quite annoying. the noise occurs at all fan speeds. When i power the fans direct from the psu the noise isnt there. The xigmatec fans work fine on the controller and dont make any buzzing noise at all.

The sickle flows are fairly noisy when on max speed (powered direct) and i dont need them on max for cooling my cpu loop.

any body else had this problem? any solutions?

im guessing its a case of the fans being kind of incompatible with the akasa fan controllers as the xigmatec fans seem to be ok. anybody know of which fans work fine with the akasa fan controller range?

ta

Minty

so glad i found this i have just purchased an akasa fc six fan controller and all my 4 conputer fans are making a buzzing noise and if i stop them still with my hand while the fan is still running it vibrates in my hand, can any1 help mem this doesnt happen when the fans are plugged directly into my motherboard ???

I had to send that controller back today. It was making my fans speed up and slow down rapidly by switching them on and off quickly which made an awful wooshing of air sound evertime they sped up every few seconds. Poor controller in my opinion. Going for the Lamptron Touch 6 fan one instead.

thanks for the reply m8 i have just sent it back, it is indeed a poor product which is a shame because it look awesome :( hae u got a link to that Lamptron Touch 6 fan controller please pal :D

can any1 else recommend a few decent fan controller's with a decent price

interesting i just found this -

This product did make all my fans vibrate horribly which was annoying as I bought to make my PC quieter. I managed to solve the problem by building a small low pass filter for each fan which didn't take long.
For each low pass filter I used a capacitor in parallel (~50uF) and a resistor in series (~5-50ohms) between the capacitor and fan controller (the values depended on the fan).
The components can be bought very cheaply. If you do try this fix remember to spec your resistors at around 1 watt to be safe (fans draw about 0.1A). A larger capacitor will reduce the rattling sound more; too large and the controller might not think there is a fan there at all, a little experimentation is needed.
Why NZXT couldn't just smooth the output is a mystery to me.

This Lamptron: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=BB-004-LP&tool=3 gets very good reviews and I suppose you get what you pay for with fan controllers. The akasa looked terribly built and the dial knobs would fall off while twisting.

I have this controller I recommended it in your other thread Spenty, can't fault its performance and it's very well made, but you may fined it difficult to fit if you have toolless bays as it is too short to clip in.

What fans do you use it with? I will most likely get it as long as it doesn't do what the akasa does and made my fans fluctuate in speed every few seconds.

what about these ?

Lamptron Fan Controller-2 45W Per Channel with Anodized Aluminium Housing - Black

Scythe Kaze Master Ace Black 5.25inch Fan Controller
