Hi,

Ive have an akasa fan controller...

When I touch the top of my case or enter a cd the thing starts beeping..Its really annoying, I don't know how to stop this...can anyone end my misery ??

The weird thing is a few days ago when I was putting cds into the drive nudging the case with my foot (by mistake) it did not happen...

Is there a "short" or is it touching something it shouldnt?

Please , please. please help

Thanks

I would think it would be shorting one of the temperature/fan sensors. What does the screen show when this happens? Whichever fan/sensor is causing the beeping, disconnect the offending wire from the back or try to see why it is shorting.

If not the put the fan controller on a different power loop to the cd drive and see if that helps?

Have you set up the temperature probes properly. Mine used to be really tempermental and like going off al lthe time. So I got rid of them in the end.
Also check everything is plugged into the back properly.

the digital display shows ---- only..

doesnt give me any indication about which fan is causing the prob ...

its so annoying...

Ive tried putting it diff loops and still get the same..

Like I said, a few days ago I don't know what I did but it stopped bleeping altogether..I never opened up the case and played about inside, i just moved the case a side and it stopped..

Surely there has to be a simple explanation?? If not...what a waste of money!! :(

is that on the fan side of the display or the temp? (that is if it is the Akasa Fan Master?)

I have a ---- on my "power" temp as the sensor broke and so i unplugged it. When it beeps either cpu, hdd, case or power should be flashing or if its a fan the fan number that is flashing. If none of them flash try unplugging each one at a time to see which one is the faulty cable.

If that fails u probably have a faulty one so rma it?

to clarify it beeps when:

a) my knee touches the case
b) i tap the top of the case

Neither cpu, hdd, case, power or any of the fans 1,2,3 symbol flashes...

When I do either a) or b) then neither of the symbols flash...

However that said when I inserted a cd in the cd rom drive and the fan controller is on "HDD" then it flashes and beeps..

thanks for your help so far...

p.s. other then a comestic factor are these things just a waste of money?

Sounds faulty to me then :( RMA it.

Yes they are very helpful! Mine is set so it only beeps when something serious is up.
So far it has saved my cpu when the fan snapped off of the Artic Cooling 64 cooler, it beeped and so i could shut it down before any serious damage happened to the cpu.

It has also saved my graphics card on numerous occasions as the fan randomly stops spinning and it gets very hot before i can restart the machine but not so hot as it damages the graphics card, again, thanks to the fan master i have early warnings of this happening.

It also quiets your fans when you dont need them and puts them into action when you do! A very handy peice of kit imo. Ive had it for nearly a year. It did randomly start beeping at one time because it didnt have anything plugged into the power sensor but it sorted itself out.
