Akasa Mirage at OcUK

didnt you say they killed the cooling or something, cos iim seriously considering dumbing my wavemaster, and this seems like a good compromise of looks and it actually working as a case

Looks like they have not and kept it the same. :)

Lots of preview versions were floating about with huge fans on the side, but with the side panel the same unless they have blocked the front intake Wavemaster style it should be on a par with the Eclipse.

Not used one yet so I have no idea what the state of the front intake is.

If its like the Wavemaster is to the ATCs 201's then it is very bad indeed, here is hoping it is not!

i really dont think it looks that bad, reminds me of the v2000. EDIT: i mean v1100
how is the new coolmaster wavy one?,ummmm cant remeber its name.edit2: its called the cm mysique

It's £30 extra for an aluminium door? I don't think they'll sell many somehow. I could be wrong, of course.

Yeh, but at least they did not mess with the fan layout.

Not a patch on the Eclipse due to the price, its pushed it out of the market somewhat against its main competitor; the Eclipse!

£30 is a lot, for what it is really. £10 and it still would be competative.

Will wait to see one first hand, pictures can be very misleading.

i've got an eclipse and i think its sweet as! whilst yes, the plastic front panel isnt the most tasteful, the internal design is spot on nice and shiny with a ridiculous amount of space. i work with servers and a mainframe all day so i dig the industry look of it

plus its nothing a bit of spraypaint couldnt jazz up if one were so inclined

incidentily does anyone know the best way to get the akasa logo off the front? its one thing that niggles me.

not to sure on the new mirage tho, never been a fan of doors particularly. just seems like something that is inevitably going to get broken off and become an annoyance. plus those precious seconds wasted opening and closing it all add up...

its also done away with the front pci slot im led to believe, which is silly as its a pretty useful inclusion a for heatsink fan controller or gamepad port to save reaching round the back

They just re-brand other peoples designs usually, Eclipse goes way way back with lots of manufacturers.

It first showed up as a beige beast.

Well im not selling my eclipse no time soon :p

They should have just exactly copied their plastic one - over to aluminium then I would have considered it, and an extra £30 for the door is a bit ott imo - should be like ~£20 max.

Dont like the door idea, so guess i'll be sticking with my eclipse :)
