New case out from akasa which is the same as the eclipse 62 except for a door on the front. Personally dont think the front panel looks as good as the eclipse but has anyone done any mods to their eclipse front panel - picts?

Whats the new case?
Do you mean the mirage 62?

edit:
ooops just read your title. obviously you do mean the mirage 62.
i thought the mirage looked quite cool tbh, but not worth the extra cash

Its on special with ocuk. Most people seem to prefer the mirage but i already like the eclipse front. Have heard of a few fronts been modified and just wanted to see what they looked like - tried google and couldnt find anything but if anyone here has any links

Check the cases gallery, the front is nicer than the Mirage in my opinion, looks a lot better.

Eclipse is the better buy, and actually is easier to silence than a Mirage is. :)

I've not seen many Eclipse front's that have been modded either. I'm interested if anyone can dig any up though...

I prefer the Eclipse to the Mirage too :)

Yep Ash to be precise, it'll look modern and fit in with the sleek look of the case, hopefully. I'm going to chamfer the edges to match my speakers that are suspended above my setup. The Ash is going to be stained black and will have a satin finish applied. If you have ever seen furniture made of black Ash then that is the effect I'm after. Then I'm going to use black modders mesh for the front fan intake. I'll keep the layout as it is and try and include the front pci in there some how as i think it's useful. I'll make a thread when i get the timber, it'll cost £33.52 inc vat and del so not too expensive should it go **** up. I'm not 100% sure if I'm going to use blue or red LED's for this one, id have to change the LEDs in my fan controller if i go for red.

Don't get me wrong i like the look of the eclipse front but i think this should look even better. Ideally id like a brushed ALU front but that isn't going to happen.

Any news on the mods yet guys - Also does anyone find the blue on led really bright and makes it hard to see the yellow leds below it - ive had to put 2 lines of duck tape between the 2 leds

Yellow?, mine are green. i never even notice them tbh. But i can see what you mean it is a tad bright. I think when i do this mod i'll swap it out for a less bright led or even a red led but im undecided yet.

Regarding the mod, I'm sending a cheque off this week for the timber so should be able to get cracking soon. Got most of the tools i need, so i just need to order some black dye and a few other bits. Ive also purchased a Japanese pull saw for any fine cutting i may need to do.

The more i think about it the more problems i think I'm going to encounter, the main one being the front usb and pci. I don't like the look of exposed usb slots and I'm not sure how i can hide them with a door without it looking a mess. The hinges will have to be hidden and the grain of the timber will have to match up.
