Akasa Venom CPU Cooler vs Corsair Hydro H80?

Hi,

I am looking to get the Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz Quad Core Processor, over clocked to 4.6GHz and would like some opinions on cooling systems.

Would the Akasa Venom CPU Cooler be sufficient, or should I go for the Corsair Hydro H80?

Ok, OC advised the H60 themselves over the Akasa that's why I am a bit confused now on what to get. Taking what they said on board I was going to go for the H80, but now am confused again :(

Thanks. Was going to get it pre-built by OC, that's why it was a choice out of the two coolers.
 
Ahhh, I see. Some useful information there. The room where the computer will be is not the best for keeping cool, its quite small and compact so it heats up quickly with things like PS3, TV, Computer, etc. Also, the surrounding area around the base unit is not as open as I would like, so maybe H80 is better solution for me? Expelling hot air directly from the case seems like something I would need, as I'm pretty sure the internals would benefit more from it. Just to mention I am proposing on using the Coolermaster CM690-II Advanced Case.
 
Cool. I think I will stick with H80 as it seems more beneficial with location of the base unit. Don't know too much about H80 though.

I'm not too concerned about noise, but am not sure how loud is loud :(. I am aware that I don't have to fill the cooler with liquid as it is sealed because I did ask about that, however not sure how reliable it is or how much life expectancy it has, i.e. is it the same as a regular fan cooler?

With a large warranty your set for a good few builds.

As for the noise, try it your self at first, see what you think, they are only at their loudest under 'performance' mode. Balanced mode should yeild lower noise but at higher temps.

Great stuff. When switching modes do you have to open the case or is it controlled via software?
