Akasa Venom CPU Cooler

Hey guys due to RAM clearence issues i'm thinking of selling my V6GT CPU cooler and getting the Akasa Venom

according to the description here

the Akasa is not as deep as the coolermaster and that would benefit me with the Ripjaw RAM but im not sure if thats with the fan on the heatsink of the cooler or not ?

Could anyone who owns the Askasa Venom please tell me the depth with the fan on please as i don't want to order and make the same mistake twice

hello,

I had that cpu cool and it is really good, i had it on my i5 760 OC to 4ghz with temps of 35'c idle and 65'c fully loadded.

here is a picture the cpu cooler and how it sits:

thats is on a MSI P55-GD65 mobo, hope that helps.

The akasa venom is a fantastic cooler. It is the cooler I always recommend as it is cheap, effective and relatively good looking!

Thanks for the posts guys, SGT Tackleberry, thanks for the pictures mate they have really helped.

Am i right in saying you have your RAM in slots 2 and 4 ?

I also have a MSI board the P67 GD65 and it says in the manual to put RAM in slots 1 and 3, however a few people have been using slots 2 and 4 because of RAM and cooler issues and they seem to have no problems.

no problem, Yes they are 2 and 4 slot. i could not fit my ram in slot 1 cuz of the cooler.
