Akg k702 vs q701?

Subjective. I prefer the Q701s and there are marketed as being superior but how much difference there is is up for interpretation.
Other thing to consider is whether or not you're bald/low pain tolerance as some people complain the bumps on the Qs headphone can be painful - but Ive personally never found this to be an issue in the slightest. The headband of the Ks do not have the same bumps.

TORTURE BUMPS! 
The only difference (apart from the bumps) is the felt and damping material used to tune them. They have the same chassis and the same drivers but they have tuned the Q701s to have a leeeetle bit more bass.
If you get the K702 then you just need to do the bass port mod (very easy) which will add around 5db to the sub-bass and gives them a good bit of slam and growl.
You can do the mod on the Q701s too, though I don't think the effect is as noticeable due to the different tuning.
