I've bought the Alan Wake collection in the Steam sales but when I tried to run it on my laptop (Dell XPS L702x), it ran like the proverbial bag of ****!!
Installed it on my desktop and it is as smooth as silk!!
Now this wouldn't normally be surprising but my laptop is a Core i7 2630 with an nVidia GT 555M which I didn't think was a bad specc'ed machine in comparison to my desktop's i5 2500K (at stock) and an nVidia GTX460 GPU!
The thing was, the fan on my laptop was not blasting away like it does when I play Diablo 3 which made me wonder whether it was using the onboard graphics for some reason!?!?
It literally grinds to around 1-2 FPS - is there some way I can check to see if it's using my GT555 or does this sound about right??
Thanks guys....
