Alarm bell box wiring

I am in the process of designing a DIY home alarm system based upon an Arduino.

I have worked out how to process the information I need from PIRs, door sensors etc. and have started looking at an outside siren and wondered if anyone on here has any knowledge of the wiring.

This video shows a basic overview: LINK

Assuming most boxes work on the same principle as the one shown in that video, it appears that the siren is silenced as long as there is:
A) 12V DC power supplied
B) 12V- supplied to the siren terminal

Beyond that, the strobes will be switched off when 12V- is connected to the strobe terminal.

My local CEF sells a Challenger AU1000WBX box: LINK

The manual is here: LINK

The connections are as follows (admire my MS Paint skills):

Assuming the logic I've described above is correct, I can power the device with a 12V supply and use relays to trigger the siren and strobes.

RTN- is mentioned as being part of a tamper circuit. Does this normally tell the panel when the bell box has been tampered with or is it something I haven't understood?

Otherwise, does my understanding of the wiring look sound?

Thanks in advance.

PS - I'm not tied to this particular bell box, so any more suitable recommendations are welcome.

Yes the tamper returns a signal to the panel to report the tamper has gone off. From memory with the Texecom Odyssey boxes the strobe -V is used for testing and putting the bellbox into engineers mode so the tamper doesnt trigger when box is opened up. If the the bell is triggered the strobe fires as well in normal operation.

Thanks, good to know that nothing needs to be sent to the tamper terminal of the bell box. I’ll get a multimeter out to see if I can fathom how it talks back to the panel.

The box I’ve linked to doesn't seem to have any way of having its tamper disabled remotely, but it allows 2 minutes of grace before the siren goes off to allow for a battery change without going deaf.
