Hello Guys and happy Easter!

Quick one. Just wondering if anyone here knew of an alarm clock program for windows that could play one of my MP3 tunes just to wake me up? that would be such a good and useful programme for me....At the moment i wake up to a nuclear alarm sound from my iphone and its driving me mad...

Cheers guys,
Sam

Think u can use the windows scheduler to start a program to play music. cant quite remember how to do it though :)

easy to do with task scheduler

in Vista:

1) go to Control Panel
2) open Administrative Tools
3) Task Scheduler
4) Expand task Scheduler on the left --> Task Scheduler library --> Microsoft --> Windows
5) Right click and select Create Basic Task
6) Give it a name and a description
7) Select recurrence (i.e daily, etc)
8) Choose Recurrence options, i.e time, start date etc
9) Select Start a Program
10) Click Browse and then browse to WM player directory (or whatever player you use) and choose the executable for it. for WM Player mine is located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe
11) Under Add Arguments add command line switches (examples here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/241422). an example to play a playlist file would be the following entered into the arguments:

/play "C:\music\playlist.m3u"

Enter filename in quotes as otherwise it won't count spacing properly

12) You can then edit further options on the task by right clicking and choosing properties if you so choose, i.e only run when certain user is logged in etc

As someone else mentioned the machine does need to be switched on, it's probably possible to switch the machine on using Wake on LAN features from another computer :p

Just thought (strange I know) Can't you just use your mobile for this I know my Sony can. Set the alarm & change the ring tone, Simple.

I can set a alarm clock through my BIOS. Leave teh computer on a standby mode nad at that time it boots itself and plays a song of my choosing :)
