because I liked being coaxed into consciousness rather than launched. What tunes get your day off to a flyer? I need some new ideas.

Try Motorcycle Drive-by by Third Eye Blind. Gentle acoustic warbling that eventually builds to a power chord finish. Lovely.

I'm not surprised by some of these, gentle guitar is just great to wake up to. Motorcycle Drive-by is a great tune. Sic, I actually have that Gonzales album but I've never got round to listening to it. :)

do it, do it now. i love all the songs on that album, one of very few that are great from start to finish.
 
I used to have Converge - Homewrecker as mine, but I just use my phone now. I need something loud to wake me up and get me out of bed. I hate listening to that song now though, because it just reminds me of having to get up in the morning.

Converge in a morning?! You absolute nutter, I'm not suprised you hate that song now, I hate any song I've chosen to listen to in the morning purely because I don't want to wake up, but I usually chose something that eased me into it. :p
 
I have a sound clip from South Park. It's so annoying I have to get up to turn it off the moment it starts. So in that respect it does the job.

Personally if I woke up to Andre3000 I'd be in a bad mood for the rest of the day. :p

What about Belle and Sebastian or some of Mansuns mellower stuff?
The Bees, Paul Weller, Jurassic 5?

I rely on a loud persistent beeping and a kick from my girlfriend. I'll sleep through anything else. :o
