Alarm Woes... DIY Solution?

My advice - take it to an autoelectricians and for about £30 or so you will get it taken out properly, otherwise, as you don't appear to have a clue, you will end up having to take it there anyway and paying a lot more money after chopping half the loom up. :)

I did think of going to an autoelectricians, either that or have a new alarm installed :)

One thing that is a little strange though, the alarm doesnt appear to be connected to the door locks, it doesnt operate them from the fob anyway, but today driving the car was locking itself

perhaps the problem lies with the electrics themselves and not the alarm? Maybe thats why the alarm went up in smoke? Nothing to do with your new headlights i hope. Been playing with anything else?

There used to be an autoelectricians just down the road from you, head towards mullers, turn left as if your going towards the rear of mullers and he was down there somewhere. Im talking about 6 years ago now though.

Ill see if ive got his info anywhere around.

EDIT: Just spoke to my mum and she says he has moved to tern hill, details from yell.com

Its fixed :)

Took the top off the alarm box and there was a plug there (at this point i was smiling quite a bit) so it seems even if i did cut the loom off i was safe.

I struggled for 15mins to get the plug out, eventually it came out in two halves, all brittle and the pins were either rusty or snapped clean off.

Started the car and voila, all done :)
