Use GPU-Z to make sure its actually reported correctly...
My 8800GT gets upto just under 80C normally (now the heatsink is full of dust) when gaming so its not that far out... aslong as its under 90 its probably not an issues whatsoever - most GPUs are designed to run upto ~100C before thermal management kicks in to throttle or power them off.

Sounds about right, My 8800GT would go up to ~75 (80 odd on a hot day) under load until I got a after market HSF for it.
