I have just turned 17. But for the most part, this is not a joyous occasion. For you see, a rather saddening truth has dawned upon me: I'm getting older.

I want to remain a child! It feels not too long that I was a boy of about 15 unable to understand why life was flying by so quickly. Now over the last few months I've felt like I have one foot in the grave. This may seem rud e and inconsiderate to the members older than myself on here, but I would not like it to be viewed as such. Besides, I imagine my best years in life are ahead of me.

So... Er happy birthday to everyone else etc etc :D

Also: worst "it's my birthday" thread ever.

17... you realised I was swiftly put in my place on here for saying I was worried about being 24? :p

Happy birthday though!

To be honest, every year goes by and I think what a noob I was the year before. Life is a journey to learn things and at 17 boy do you have a lot to learn!

Happy birthday. I'm glad you realise how good being young is, not that I'm particularly old. Lots of people I talk to on my sisters year (she's 17) say how they just want to grow up and get a job.

Enjoy it now, its the only time in your life staying up all night and doing stupid things is completely normal :)

Oh and Happy Birthday only one more year till being cool and drinking is legal, learn to drive now too!

They will get a lot better, well atleast from my experience they get a lot better!

Dont worry, its actually totally cool, because life doesnt change hugely - but you end up getting loads more money, can buy cars, and girls become more interesting.

17?

I was pretty miserable when I was 17.

Then I moved schools and got a girlfriend and had just shy of two pretty good years.

I just came to that realization too, but rather than being scared about it i can't wait. I don't have too many really good childhood memories, and i've lived more in these past few years than i have my whole life. Take every day as it comes, the only thing you can do in life that will ever mean anything is to be happy, and to do your best to help others do the same. If ever you're not happy, it's time to make a change.

Happy birthday, good luck on your next trip around the sun! :D
