A number of my albums dont show any artwork for some reason, all the artwork is correct in iTunes and its been fine on my iPhone before. Asking on macrumors a guy has said this

'this is because iTunes does not embed the image into the actual ID3 Tag, what it does is associate each file with a picture file on your computer. Sometimes you move around the library and your xml library file will get messed up. What I do is use a software that embeds it. This way your files will have the albumart not only in iTunes but everywhere you move them. I used to do this manually but if you have a large library it can become a pain in the ass..I suggest using TuneUp. You have to buy it, but the benefits are awesome. Plus, if you decide you like it, I can give you 15% discount when purchasing hehe, it is not expensive and honestly it is the best piece of software ive bought in a long time..'

Now my question is... Isnt there a small freeware program that will do this? :)

Ive got all my relevant art work in a folder with the album's .mp3. Maybe there is a quick way of getting iTunes it pick up the art when I drag the folder into iTunes? At the mo iam adding all the artwork manually. :(

Itunes does embed stuff as far as I'm aware. I always delete artwork after adding it.

I have tuneup btw - it's good for cleaning up missing info and artwork.

iTunes doesn't properly embed it - If you move music around then there's a good chance that if you've manually added artwork then it won't appear.

TuneUp is good, so is CoverScout. I have both, neither are free though.

Ok thanks, yeah my problem was that I keep chopping and changing my iTunes libary, but in future can I just keep adding to it and then just sync what I want onto my iPhone?

So will TuneUp sort all my artwork out correctly without me doing anything?

You have to drag and drop the affected tracks and then it'll look for album covers. Sometimes you need to pick the right one.
