Album art on manually managed tracks on iPhone

Sorry if I seem a bit annoyed but it's because I am! iTunes on windows is literally a joke. None of the options to do with album art actually do anything. Every time I set any option all the album art is totally blank on the iPhone.

How do I give songs album art? Surely its not this hard.

Edit: Been trying it for ages and a few minutes after I made this post I got it to work. It only works when you do it this specific way. Oh well at least it works now! I hope.

I spoke too soon

Now everything has album art EXCEPT when you are actually on that album, IE on coverflow the art shows up until that album is the one centered on the screen, then its just a black square. :///

Don't worry, I've now wiped every song off the iPhone and I'm now going to sync it to the library instead, its a lot less hassle like this.

Before I just had the songs on the iPhone and was updating the tags of the songs while they were on there and it just wasn't working correctly.
