I'm looking to get a selection or Beers and Ciders for my dads birthday, but stuff that isnt normally sold in Supermarkets. Nothing specific, just a variety.

Any suggestions for sites to use?

Thanks

I've had stuff from them. Very good selections and packaged well but a bit on the expensive side. That said you'll not find the same selection from many other places.

Truthfully, unless you're buying a fair amount of specialised drink you're not worth buying it online.

I buy beer from beersofeurope on occasion but only because I can't get certain things in supermarkets. They are stupidly expensive (both price and postage).

Unless you have money to burn, just hit the Tesco & Morrisons world beer section. They sell some really good stuff now. These specialised websites aren't really worth it unless you're buying something particularly special and I don't think that you are.

Though, tell us what you dad enjoys drinking and we can recommend some drinks that he'll like. There's no point me telling you to buy every last bottle of Sierra Nevada Torpedo (do it though, it's awesome) if he hates IPAs...

weirdly I've been to beers of Europe, its near(ish) some friends so popped buy and stocked up on about £100 of beer (plus a load of spirits for the ladies) tis a very odd place with a scary selection of stuff!

Generally though I'd buy from a local specialist or brewery's shop - if you don't mind buying a pallet majestic can be good :)

drinkfinder.co.uk is something I have used a few times for weird spirits :) can't really compare prices but delivery is quick

Your location says near Brighton, just off the A27 near Lewes is Middle Farm, they have over 100 different ciders in stock, mostly on draught (try before you buy). I go here quite often to stock up, some really great stuff in there so I highly recommend trying there for cider.

P&P is always going to be pricey for booze. IIRC it's something like £7 per case most places. It's the thing that stops me ordering more beers from Brew Dog to be honest; I can't stomach the postage charges when the beer is already more than it is in Sainsbury's.

Been wondering what that place was called for a while. Got several litres from there about five or six years ago and couldn't remember what it was called. Is it the one where they have all the barrels around the room and you just fill up a bottle of whatever for yourself?

I had actually completly forgotten about that place. I live only about 10 minutes away as well :p

Thanks for all the help.
