Hi there.

Wierd one and a long shot at that but I dont suppose any member knows the north west location that the aldi group use for interviews? My fiance has one this week but left the paper work at uni with the address

Is that the area manager one, 38k and an Audi A4. Looks good that does. Only problem for me would be working away. Would miss the kids too much.

I imagine you could just give HR a ring at Aldi HQ.

Bloody hell, that's a good wage.

Shows how much you bother to check facts before you imply someone is lying.

Keep trying.

I don't need to keep trying - I said you can't walk into a job as an Area Manager as a new graduate.

Which, from their site, it would seem to be the case:

Within weeks, you’ll be managing a store

Store =/ Area Manager.

I didn't say you were lying, I just suspected you were mistaken. As great as it'd be, you cant make Area Manager of any reputable firm with just a degree. You need a great deal of experience in order to relate to the store managers working below you.

I dont think anyone in this thread actually suggested that? The poster you originally quoted was just using it to refer to the programme/vacancy. I'm sure no-one here is stupid enough to believe they can walk into a job like that without some form of on-the-job training.

You'll get used to Fox, he's scared of believing anyone nowadays after his upbringing.

cant blame him really, the amount of people who talk a load of trash on the internet is unbelieveable.

people lie because they can get away with it on the internet as it doesnt seem in anyway connected to your life outside of a computer screen. these forums have had a few known instances where people have been proven to have been lieing, that means there must be plenty of ************(try and guess that one :p) on these forums

Read that link again, its a graduate programme designed to find area managers very quickly. Managing a store within 2 weeks of your career is pretty intense, and I guess they'd expect you to be able to take over the running of the 6 stores fairly quickly (within the year) or you'll be out.

To the OP - I suggest that forgetting the interview instructions is not the best start to demonstrating that you're capable of being an area manager :p Get your ass back to Uni to pick up the instructions I would say.

Graduate schemes do not mean walking into a job as Area Manager, so no, its not the same one.

"Within weeks, you’ll be managing a store and when you’re ready, up to six stores"

"Our Area Management Programme covers the full spectrum of retail management from store operations and trading to administration, from logistics to property management"
