So according to Gary Lineker “if you have a problem with Alex getting the job, you might just be part of the problem.”

I can't stand her accent so I won't be watching but because of that I'm part of some sort of problem, do we have to like everything nowadays?

It's so lazy to blame it on racism.

If Alex Scott is the best person for the job then someone should just pull the plug now.

I only know her from Strictly but I don't remember anything odd whatsoever about her accent. She just speaks normally.
It's a bit Kate Nash to me and it grates on me.

Alex Scott is great, but then I don't even watch a question of sport like most here I suspect so why would anyone have a problem with it?

Then again 25,000 velcro wallet and leather flip phone case owning manbabies were so upset about a dance on TV they had to complain to OFCOM so that's the world we're living in right now.
I watched QoS from time to time and it's has got very tame so maybe it does need a revamp but as I said I can't stand her voice so I won't be tuning in, didn't watch the dance thing but an English person protesting about stuff in America is a joke to me no matter what colour they are.

Because it's relevant here too, we steal enough things from American culture as it is so that's a fairly weak argument.

If art is supposed to be impartial and free of politics why do we need patriotic propaganda played/sung at the proms? Works both ways.
How is it relevant here?

I'm not aboard that ship, I don't think the white race is being attacked, I do think a lot of companies are trying to tick boxes to seem to be doing the right thing whatever that maybe anymore but as pretty as I find Alex Scott I just don't like her voice.

I like Roy Keane he's a throwback to when you could call out a player for not putting a shift in.

I'd love it if he was a captain on the show!

All that is true of 80% plus of football pundits except the tasty bit. As I already mentioned in an earlier post I could list a load of pundits that are terrible, just spout the same nonsense every week, can't keep their personal bias for their own club from impacting on their analysis.

Would she have got the gig 10 years ago? No because no women would have because they are female. So yes some diversity boxes were probably ticked and in cases like this that is no bad thing, she is as good if not better than a lot of pundits employed out there. Lots of women watch football, lots of women play football, she can do the job, what more does anyone want? Male pundits were used for the woman's World Cup so what is the problem?

Oh and no I don't think the colour of her skin has any relevance on her getting a gig.

You say wouls she have got the gig 10 years ago, no because she's a woman but she's replacing a woman who had the job for 24 years?

Far too many people love throwing around the "Waycist" accusation at people nowadays that you can't have an opinion unless you're the same colour as the person you have an opinion of.
