Translated (sort of) version HERE

Hats off to the fella!.
:)

I was up watching that race when it happend.

From what i remember is the commentators were taking about him for ages before the just at the start of the race.

Then he had the crash later on.:(

I remember seeing the photo of the impact at the time, and feeling a little queasy when I quickly realised what all of the pink and red stuff was.
The very fact that he survived was incredible, proper respect.

Absolute legend.

Terrible in F1, but his recovery has been remarkable and his passion to race to still be there as well is amazing.

*puts on hat....*
*doffs hat*

Amazing guy, wish he had a better run in F1 but such an amazing guy.

I really like the he got back in the car to finish the rest of the race from his accident.

Only thing, why does he have a pineapple when he comes out of hospital??

A good chunk of that wasn't his fault - check out the F1 rejects entry for info on his first stint.

As for 1999, I commented on that here:

When he first raced for Ganassi in CART, his crew chief Morris Nunn called him "pineapple" in reference to his constant questions in the garage (I'm not sure the analogy works but Zanardi got a picture of one on his race helmet afterwards).

Loved him doing the handstand on his chair at the end on his second (?) race in the paralympics...then laughing like a loon when he sat back down and promptly tipped it over backwards!
:D
