I have been using Alexa with my home lights for several years now. I have each Alexa unit assigned to a room, and then the lights in that room assigned to the same group. Until a couple of weeks ago I was able to walk into a room and say Alexa Lights on and the lights in that room would turn on. Now when I do it, Alexa says Okay, but the lights dont turn on and I have to say Alexa turn on Office lights for example. However if I'm in a room with the lights on and say Alexa Lights off, the lights in that room turn off.

Anyone else use this feature and noticed anything?

Have you checked the phrases in your routines? I've got a extraction system for the bathrooms with the override controlled by an Alexa routine, after an app update I lost one of the phrases so "Alexa, turn on fan" wouldn't work but "Alexa fan on" did, where as both would have worked prior to the update.

I forgot about this. Nothing has changed, everything works via harmony, they all work if I say the room or bulb name, just not with only saying lights on, but work fine for lights off, so I don’t understand. It’s not a major issue as I can make a routine that makes it actually easier, so I can say Alexa plonker and have that turn on the living room lights, then do a routine called idiot for the office etc. will make it a little more fun as well lol
