This brought back some memories, used to watch ALF back in the '80's. A sad ending, died from heatstroke with his dog.

Benji Gregory appeared in all four seasons of 1980s sitcom ALF - and also featured in several television shows including The A-Team and T. J. Hooker.

Says he had a sleep disorder that kept him awake for days at a time. I imagine when he then slept, it was pretty deep. Deep enough to not wake up because you're dying, or to a dog likely making noise next to you, seems unlikely but who knows.
