Aliasing - Monitor the cause?

Ever since I got my monitor I have noticed aliasing in games, big time. The jaggies drive me crazy.
This has lead to me wacking anti-aliasing right up as high as I can in games to get rid of them.

So what I was wondering is, is it possible for a faulty/bad monitor to affect aliasing/jaggies in games?

The monitor I have is the LG W2361V.
Unfortunately I don't have another monitor for comparison. I've tried many HDMI cables and many various monitor settings, but nothing has changed.

I may just be being paranoid and just noticing them now where before I hadn't been, but hearing comments on threads of people saying things like "On my 24" monitor I just turn AA completely off" really makes me think something's up as games become jaggy, flashing messes if I turn AA off.

Thanks in advance.

I have the GTX 480, and I got the monitor at the same time as the graphics card so haven't used it in any other monitor.

And yes I run all the games at 1920x1080.

it's because the textures in games today are so large. It's normal to switch anti-aliasing on; textures on PC games will never be made for one specific screen resolution. If your GPU is struggling to keep up with the anti-aliasing then try running the monitor at a resolution other than native res, such as 1600x900 on a 1920x1080 pannel, this will soften things off a bit.
